I'm such a newbie

Hello to anyone interested in this blog.

I'm a busy mom of three sons, work full-time and try to spend as much of the rest of my time in my studio as I can possibly eke out without allowing my housework to get too out of hand. I can't decide how to define my art. I love working with fabrics and fibers, anything tactile, but I also love combining them with lots of other things: paints, inks, beads, stitch, metal, stamping, paper...the list is exhaustive, exhausting, and my materials take up an incredible amount of space in my tiny (8'x10') studio.

I belong to an art gallery here in my little Kansas town and feel fortunate to have the influence and critical input of so many wonderful, creative people, including a woman who was a teacher of mine in school. What an amazing experience being able to access her creativity so many years after she was my art instructor! Thanks, Liz.

My other artistic influences are Maggie Grey and Beryl Taylor, both of whom I admire tremendously for their incredible creativity and energy. Their work gives me goosebumps.

I plan to post photos of my own efforts as soon as I am able.
